1485 – CGAO – General Members Meeting – 19th November 2018

Please be advised that the CGAO will be holding its General Members Meeting on the 19^th

November 2018 in Mississauga, prior to the start of the Joint Conference. Details are below.

1486 – Ontario’s Charitable Gaming Conference

In co-ordination with our Sister Organization, the CGAO & OCGA will be hosting this years Ontario’s Charitable Gaming Conference in Mississauga, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity to get caught up on all the developing issues surrounding cGaming and the changing landscape we are operating in. We have the two CEO’s of the AGCO & OLG who will be making addresses to the conference, which is tremendous and the first time it has happened. This only reinforces our position of continuing the partnership approach to the conference, hence the theme Stronger Together.

1487 – CGAO – Transformation Meeting – 21st November 2018

On Wednesday morning, the 21st November 2018, at the direction of our Chair & Vice Chair we will be hosting an information day on the Transformation Initiative that is highly likely to occur in 2019.

We are looking to have our internal [CGAO] team, representatives from OLG cGaming and representatives from AGCO in attendance and engaged in the presentations. This is designed to give a first-hand account of how the process will unfold and prepare Commercial Operators for the change.

1488 – G2E – Las Vegas

Early in October our Chair, Mr. Tony Rosa, led a delegation of CGAO Members to the G2E Conference in Las Vegas. This is now reported to be the premier gaming conference in North America and attracts over 28,000 delegates from around the world.

It is clear that the challenges to the retail environments still remain and there were numerous discussions around how this challenge could be met in the future. The delivery of the experience still remains quite high on the agenda for many company leaders. It shows that there is no clear quick solution and it will take focus on numerous fronts to reserve the trends going forward.

This is always a good conference to attend due to the mixture of delegates and the depth of the discussion and knowledge.

Our colleagues at the Canadian Gaming Association held their annual hospitality on the Wednesday evening, which showcases the Canadian delegation at G2E. This is to allow Canadian representatives to get together and network. Our thanks Paul Burns – CEO for creating and maintaining this important networking opportunity.

1489 – Human Resources – Cannabis Impact

As you will all be aware, on the 17^th October 2018 cannabis became legal throughout the country. This made Canada the second country to do this and the first G7 country to legalize the product.

Naturally, it has impacts on your employee conditions and if you have not updated your

employee conditions/standards, I would greatly encourage you to undertake this soon. It could also have impacts on your customers in-line with the smoking regulations, etc.

1490 – Quebec – cGaming Pilot Launched

It has been confirmed that on the 4^th October 2018, Quebec launched its long awaited cGaming pilot. The initial results have been in-line with expectations. Although it is extremely early in the process to get a true indication of performance, this will unfold in the coming months.

I wanted to acknowledge Mr. Francois-Patrick Allard and team at Lotto-Quebec. Also, the Commercial Operators & Charities in the province who have all worked extremely hard to bring this initiative to the market.

We [CGAO] will be following up with Mr. Allard on how the initiative is developing in the next few weeks.
