1747 – Delta Gaming Group

On Friday, the 11th of April, the Delta Gaming Group launched its new venue in the City of Toronto. This was attended by the Hon Stan Cho, Minister of MTCG, who formally cut the ribbon to launch this venue with support from the CEO & President of the OLG, Mr. Duncan Hannay and the Executive Director of OCGA, Mr. Richard Schwar, a display of the unique and successful partnership with cGaming.

Delta Gaming Group

This is a major investment by the Group and will replace the highly successful St. Clair location that closed last week. There are numerous innovations being deployed within the venue, most notability a PlaySmart Lounge, the first in cGaming Venue.

The focus remains within the Charitable Gaming space but attention on the ‘customer experience’ is clearly visible and being executed. Last year the Delta Gaming Group delivered/generated a vast amount of ‘real dollars’ to the Charity Groups that are aligned to their venues. The President & Chair of the Board of Delta, Mr. Cam Johnstone, stated our company has a long and deep heritage within the charitable gaming sector and we will continue in that vein but that can only be delivered if we create and provide compelling costumer experiences and, through my team, we will remain focused on doing just that.

Delta Bingo>Gaming

What Cam and his executive team have produced is transformational for the cGaming Sector and builds on our ‘Community Entertainment Venueconcept. It keeps Bingo as a core element of the Product Portfolio while retaining the sociability of the cGaming experience. There are 80 Charitable Groups partnering at this venue and they rely on the funds generated.

1748 – Charitable Gaming : Community Good

It has been encouraging to hear the latest range of supporting radio advertisements that have appeared in the month, explaining to the public the unique features of cGaming and the direct connection to the vast amount of Community projects that are funded through this platform.

This brand is now taking shape and continues to build one block at a time and, with each block, it gets stronger and recognizable in the public arena. I wanted to acknowledge Ms. Mary O’Neill and all the OCGA team for this work they have undertaken. They deserve full credit for the achievement.

Charitable Gaming. Community Good.

If you have any planned marketing initiatives, please contact Ms. Mary O’Neill at moneill@charitablegaming.com to see if there is any opportunity for a joint marketing approach. The brand has been designed for the cGaming Sector. We should, as commercial operators, leverage it where possible.

1749 – PlaySmart

We continue our work with RGC and OLG PlaySmart teams. We are seeking ongoing development and greater understanding of the RG’s factors within the cGaming environment. In March the OLG completed its ‘OLG PlaySmart – Employee Survey’ that was conducted by Ipsos.

The report was a good benchmark and there are no areas for concern at this stage. Our operating colleagues are generally doing a good job and attuned to PlaySmart objectives. The survey response rate from cGaming was 24%, which is a traditionally lower response rate for surveys from our sector and we will certainly seek to improve that next year.

PlaySmart

As we have maintained through the cGaming development journey, we must continue to forge forward to enhance and strengthen our RG culture at the venue level. It is through ongoing incremental improves that we will achieve that objective.

What is exciting, within cGaming is the innovation of the PlaySmart Lounge at the newly relocated Delta Gaming Venue [Toronto]. This will operate under a ‘pilot framework’ with clearly define KPI’s to measure the impact and effectiveness of the pilot versus that of a PlaySmart Kiosk.

This is an example of partnership in action, CGAO, OCGA, OLG, RGC and Delta Gaming Group.

I want to acknowledge the Executive Team at Delta Gaming Group of Mr. Leo Perri [CEO] and Mr. Shawn Fisher [COO], who have supported the pilot going forward in their newly relocated venue.

1750 – Golf Day 2025

Our Golf Day is set for 5th of June 2025 at the Springfield Golf & Country Club in Guelph. This has always been a positive and enjoyable networking event for the cGaming Sector. The sponsorship package has been released and the initial response has been encouraging.

At the request of the Chair [Mr. Tony Rosa] and Director – Mr. John Johnstone, the cost for a Team (foursome) is being held, for the fourth year in a row, at $C1,000 (+HST). This includes Golf, Cart, Lunch, Dinner and Prizes

For those who have attended in previous years, we look to have the day wrapped up and golfers on the road by 6:45pm, at the direction of the Chair [TR].

1751 – Easter Holidays

This week we will celebrate the Easter Holidays, 18th to 21st April 2025. Traditionally this has been a very positive trading period for cGaming. Hence, this is a time to deploy extra vigilance of our guests entering the venues.

If anyone is acting unusual or who appears out of place, this should be brought immediately to the attention of the Duty Manager so a careful watch can be made of their behaviour. As with all incidences of this nature, please keep your Compliance Team full briefed. We certainly want to ensure an incident free long weekend.
