- Mr. Cam Johnstone - After over twenty (20) years leading the operations of the Delta Gaming Group, Cam has decided to move into the full-time position of Chair of the Board of Directors. This reflects the confidence and commitment of the Group as they continue to drive forward in the Charitable Gaming sector. We are pleased that Cam will continue in his role as the Vice Chair of the CGAO.

1628 – Re-Opening of the Sector
The news that capacity limits would be lifted was extremely welcomed by our members and the Charitable Gaming Sector in general.
We can finally begin the long process of recovery in rebuilding the business for the future. We have been encouraging our members for the past year to re-think, re-calibrate and re-present the guest experience. This should be reflective of the expectations going forward, not where we left off in March 2020.
There is a once in a generational opportunity to make structural changes that our guests will expect due to the prolonged nature of the lock-down, combined with the willingness to embrace new methods of completing transactions. We should leverage that new attitude and opportunity to ensure we strengthen the business foundations so we can continue to deliver the revenue to our partners who benefit from the hard work of our Centre teams.
We know this will take time. It may come in phases, but with continuing support and focus, we will get there. |

1629 – iGaming and Single Sports Wagering
We continue to provide information to our members on the ongoing developments with iGaming. It is still scheduled to come online this winter season/period. It will offer opportunities for those companies that wish to be a part of this exciting venture; however, it is not without its challenges.
We are mindful that this is a major strategic initiative, and our focus is to ensure that the land-based operators are not overly impacted through the introduction of this platform and are able to participate successfully in this space for the future. |

1630 – Health and Wellness
The team at the Responsible Gaming Council hosted their Discovery-21 conference on the 18th to 21st October. The conference was conducted through a virtual platform due to the pandemic restrictions.
We, the CGAO, had the opportunity to engage virtually, and it was a very engaging experience. We heard about numerous interesting developments from around world. The one that punched through was the broader harm that is experienced by individuals who are close to those experiencing gambling challenges. I sense this will gain more traction as we go forward in the years ahead.
The CGAO took the opportunity to write directly to Ms. Shelley White (RG-C) to thank and acknowledge her team’s hard work and efforts in presenting this conference. |

All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated and be able to provide proof of double vaccination along with photo identification upon entry to the hotel.
This will be a face-to-face meeting and it is the first time since early 2020 our members will have an opportunity to gather together. It will be good opportunity for our members to meet and discuss the current initiatives facing the Sector. |

1632 – OLG Senior Executive – Centre Visit
On the 21st October, OLG’s Mr. Duncan Hannay [CEO] and Ms. Lori Sullivan [Chief Land-based Gaming & Business Development Officer] along with other members from their senior team, made their second visit to a cGaming Centre.
On this occasion, the OLG visited Dolphin Gaming Centre [Toronto]. The President of Dolphin Gaming Centre – Mr. Paul Nitsopoulos hosted the visit and provided a tour of the centre, which has seen a major investment in recent years.
The centre visit is reflective of Duncan’s and Lori’s wish to visit and meet first-hand our cGaming Operational Teams and what is happening in local communities and the unique benefit this model brings.

1633 – Charitable Gaming: Community Good
Our colleagues at the OCGA continue to develop the Charitable Gaming: Community Good brand. This is still in the early phases of development. The team is continuing to build on the foundation pieces, mainly the website, which presents real stories of the value our collective initiative is having within the communities.
It was encouraging to see our colleagues at Dolphin Gaming Centre, who deployed the POS material[s] within the Centre in prime locations, bringing awareness to the brand. The more we feature and draw attention to the materials, the more likely they will become a focus point of reference of the tremendous work our local community-based Charities undertake. |
