1293 – $C100 Raised for Charities

As we enter the tenth (10) year of c-Gaming [dating back to the pilots] in this province, an equally important milestone was triggered when we reached the $C100m mark and counting for Charities across the province. This is a remarkable achievement in anyone’s book and to acknowledge this success there will be a formal presentation on the 4th February 2016 at the Boardwalk Gaming Centre – Barrie, where a formal cheque will be presented.

Come join us on the 4th February to share this celebration.

1294 – Communication Initiative

The CGAO has engaged Edelman Communication Group to undertake an initiative with the CGAO to highlight and showcase the tremendous value that Commercial Operators and Suppliers (our Members) bring to the success of Charitable Gaming, not only since the c-Gaming but through the rich history of the sector of over 40yrs of partnership.

This is likely to be completed by the end of March 2016, when we will share its content with interested parties.

1295 – Responsible Gaming

We continue to remain focused on the importance that Social Responsibility plays within our new business model. It has been greatly encouraging to hear from our partner RG-C, who has stated that our Centres and staff are very supportive and engaged in promoting RG initiatives in the Centres.

With over 60,000 touch points and climbing, something must be going right and we continue to work constructively in a balanced approach to this area.

It is also exciting to hear that the OLG Team will shortly be launching its new brand for RG ‘Play Smart, which is reflective of the environment and today’s needs. This is a good step and something we should embrace and support.

1296 – Save the Day - Golf 2016

Just wanted to give you some advance notice that the CGAO Golf Day 2016 is scheduled for Thursday, 2nd June 2016. It will be held at the Springfield Golf & Country Club, Guelph, Ontario.

I am pleased that Mr. Peter Howard – (CGAO) Director, has offered his services again to head up our Golf Committee. More details will follow in the coming weeks.

1297 – BOT-Development Fund Initiative

Just as a way of a quick update, the BOT-DF will likely be producing a report on the recent project undertaken in the Southwest Region of the province. There have been many interesting and valuable lessons to be gained from this project. The most important has been the new methods of connectivity to potential or future consumers.

The focus of this project was about awareness and profiling BOT’s in the community and connecting the main beneficiaries (Charities) to the product and purchase experience. Early indicators suggest that was achieved. Once we have a complete report we will share it with all our members.

1298 – Leveraging Suppliers/Vendors - Built-In Knowledge

I would bring to member’s attention the tremendous resources that are available to you if you only reach out and seek them. Our Suppliers/Vendors have a lot of knowledge to assist you in some of your business objectives.

For example, Pollard Games is a large company in the Breakopen Ticket & Bingo Manufacturing sector. Combined with this it deals in other promotional materials that are certainly worth looking into.
