1323 – Summer (Rio) Olympic Games (2016)

In the next week or so, the single largest sport event will begin down in Rio, Brazil. Although there
has been lots of discussion around what is potentially wrong with the event, there is no doubt it
will launch on time.

I am sure to date there has not been a lot of interest expressed by our consumers around this but
we know from past experience, once the opening ceremonies are over the awareness picks up
at a tremendous pace if the Canadian Team starts to collect medals early.

In previous years various Commercial Operators have arranged for TV’s to cover the games,
creating mini-Olympic lounges within their Centres that relay coverage throughout the opening
period of the Centre.

It is worth Gaming Centre Managers giving thought to how they can promote through this
period, if they have not already done so.

1324 – All For Here - OLG Campaign

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation have launched its ‘All For Here’ campaign that will
run through the summer and fall 2016. This is designed to increase awareness of all the OLG
contributions to ‘Ontario Residents’ via event sponsorship, municipal contributions, quest for gold
athletes and charitable support.

Naturally, this will include the c-Gaming contributions with the $C100m milestone to over 1,700
Charities across Ontario for example. Recently you would have or are about to be updated by
your BRM on how you can inter-link this to your Centre.

This is a good message campaign that I feel has tremendous benefits, being part of the broader
OLG message. If you would like additional information, in the first instance please contact your
BRM or Ms. Chantel Escoffery, Marketing Manager –C-Gaming at (416) 224-7080 (Ext) 6520.

1325 – Catch the Ace - Pilot (AGCO)

It has been announced by the AGCO that they will allow the pilot for this Progressive Raffle
Game to begin from September 2016. The details of the pilot and the related operating and
eligibility requirements are contained in the AGCO documents.

The project lead on this initiative is Mr. Rusty Parr. He can be contacted at (416) 326-1635 should
you require further details. Prior to calling Mr. Parr, please take a moment to read through the
information materials.

This pilot project has been the result of the successful ‘Chase the Ace’ games that have been
operating in Eastern Canada where they have been popular with consumers. It is further based
on consultations with various industry stakeholders in Ontario and reflective of the progressive
approach undertaken by the AGCO in their modernization of Charitable Gaming in this
province.

1326 – Responsible Gaming Council - c-Gaming Report

As part of the ongoing engagement that the CGAO has undertaken with the Responsible
Gaming Council, we are able to obtain independent information on how c-Gaming is
performing. I was delighted to see that the Director, Ms. Paula Antoniazzi from RG-C, gave
encouraging news of the ‘touch-points’ and consumer engagement that we are seeking in and
around the RG-Kiosks in our Centres.

Full credit must be given to Centre Managers and Staff who continue to engage and support
these programs in a very constructive fashion. This report is on our web site, www.cgao.ca, if you
would like to download it and read its content.

1327 – Product & Marketing Committee - c-Gaming

This week has seen the Product & Marketing Committee and the Strategy Committee of c-
Gaming [made up of Industry and OLG Representatives] undertaking various presentations from
Vendors who wish to have their products placed within the c-Gaming channel.

Clearly, the process is not a simple one. However, by engaging in a structured presentation
process with all the key decision makers we hope to emerge with a focused product platform to
pursue. I am not saying this will be simple or even quick but it will ensure that going forward we
will have both Committees in full support of the product program as we move forward.

1328 – Delta Gaming Group - Charity Event

Patrons and staff of Delta Bingo & Gaming raised over $50,000 last month for the Red Cross
Alberta Fires Appeal through a recent campaign aimed at providing support to those affected
by the devastating wildfires in Alberta earlier this spring.

For three consecutive Fridays in June, all Delta Bingo and Boardwalk Gaming locations across
Ontario hosted ”Fort McMurray Fridays”, where all snack bar sales were donated to the
Canadian Red Cross.

“When a disaster such as this occurs we know we have to do something to help”, says Cam
Johnstone, President, Delta Bingo & Gaming. The response to our Fort McMurray Fridays was
terrific. Our players were eager to offer their support and were extremely generous in their
contributions. We are happy we can make this donation to help rebuild the lives of the
individuals and families whose homes were destroyed by these devastating wildfires.”

1329 – New South Wales (Australia) Greyhound Sector

Early this month, the Premier of New South Wales (Australia) informed the State that with
immediate effect, the Government has given notice to the ‘Greyhound Racing Sector’ that in
12 months the whole sector will be closed down.

This decision was based on the outcome of a Special Commission of Inquiry, which was reported
in the press indicating the following:

  • Widespread use of Live baiting
  • Evidence of doping within the Industry
  • Industry as a culture of deception
  • No longer entitled to the trust of the community

Naturally, there has been pushback from the Industry and with 2,000 direct jobs plus around
8,000 indirect jobs, they will most likely seek an appeal or challenge the Government decision.
This is a $A1.1billion dollar industry that provides $A35million in taxes to the State. It will be
interesting to see how this develops in the coming months.

1330 – CGAO General Meeting

Please be advised that the next scheduled General Members Meeting will be held as indicated
below.

Date: 13th September 2016
Time: 10:00am
Location: Holiday Inn (Dixon Road) East
Room: Centennial B
Refreshments: Light Refreshments

1331 – G2E - Las Vegas Conference

Please be advised that the annual G2E Conference is fast approaching, hosted in Las Vegas
(USA) from the 26th September to 29th September. This is always a good conference to obtain a
broader view of what is happening in the gaming space and checking out the developments in
the latest technologies and equipment.

If you intend to head to Las Vegas, I would encourage you to book your flight and hotel as early
as possible. Generally there is a good group of CGAO Members in attendance and it is a great
networking opportunity.
